Slim-Fast sheds Whoopi Goldberg

Comedian Whoopi Goldberg will no longer appear in ads for diet aid maker Slim-Fast following her lewd riff on President George W Bush's name at a political fundraiser last week.

Florida-based Slim-Fast said it was "disappointed" in Goldberg's remarks at last Thursday's $US7.5 million fundraiser at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

"Ads featuring Ms Goldberg will no longer be on the air," Slim-Fast General Manager Terry Olson said in a statement.

He says that the company regrets that Goldberg's remarks offended some customers.

Republicans have expressed outrage over the fundraiser for presumptive Democratic nominee John F Kerry and his vice presidential running mate John Edwards in which entertainers lined up to skewer the president.

The New York Post said of Goldberg's appearance at the event: "Waving a bottle of wine, she fired off a stream of vulgar sexual wordplays on Bush's name in a riff about female genitalia."

A spokesperson for Goldberg declined immediate comment.

remember the little "Snaps"...paper-wrapped gunpowder? when you'd throw them at the ground they'd produce a miniature explosion? they always had sawdust in the bag for protection and it would go everywhere once you got that tricky bag opened.

ok that's the last mention of fireworks

i got a pump...sooo...who wants to have a bike race?

so why exactly is it that people believe that allowing gay couples to marry will 'hurt' the institution of marriage? why is it they never comment when you bring up the numerous marry-a-millionaire shows or getting married by elvis impersonators...why does that not hurt the 'sanctity'? why do they immediately jump on the procreation issue? like it's even an issue...will gay marriages will end procreation? no, not likely. it's not like gay people just started having sex recently. why does the president fund programs to promote marriage while at the same time attempting to tell people they can't marry. why do people still not realize that this is not about religion? am i foolish to say it's the same as banning interracial marriages?

the right to bridal registry is a fascist state.".

can anyone show me a site or an article that will show me the supposed "lies" in Fahrenheit 911? cuz i've heard for weeks about these "lies" in the movie and when i saw it, i didn't notice any. most of the material in this film was reported years ago. every site i go to keeps throwing stuff from Bowling for Columbine in my face when it's supposed to be an article for Fahrenheit 911.  most of these sites also have ads to put reagan on a coin, to re-elect bush, and to comment on michael moore's weight.

"bring em on" [Jun. 27th, 2004|10:06 pm]

so i saw Fahrenheit 911 tonight with some of my cohorts. Brian, Jen, and I wore our anti-bush shirts...such a hit

i really don't know what to say about the movie. i laughed, i cried, i cheered, i booed. and i was a nervous mess the entire time.

my feelings, as of now, are best expressed in quoting the ever-so-wise Pamela Means:

[music |skip james!]

i was talking to a friend earlier who told me she will be voting for Bush this election because she is "not for abortion." it seems that is the only issue persuading her vote. then we talked a about it a bit...about how she'd be stripping away her own right as well as for other women. i've always thought the best way to be anti-abortion was to not have one...not to tell everyone else they don't have a right to.
she thanked me for talking to her about it. after that, i wondered how many people are actually basing their vote on a single issue.

i can't stop watching the old anti-communist films at Archive.org! it freaks me out to know that kids used to watch these in school. it seems to me that the capitalism these films praise has made us into the drones which they said communism would.

in other news:

  • megan is a movie watchin machine! (but she should articulate feedback) :X
  • too many people in my family are havin babies
  • it's never going to stop raining
  • garlic hummus is good
  • who wants a copy of my so-called summa mix?
  • i need someone to paint with
  • the spam now has my name in the subject...makes messages about penis enlargement, home loans, mortgage consolidations, credit problems, free comprehensive home security packages all the more personal!!

i love my cat :/ )

so i let the dog out for her morning urination as usual. when i go back to let her in, i notice she's not waiting at the door like she always is. so i investigate and find her outside nibbling on a HUGE dead rabbit in the yard. aaaaaaaaaaaaaa. so i make her come inside and she's all anxious and embarrassed and by default she thinks she's supposed to go to the bedroom but i refuse to let her in there due to the rabbit guts on her mouth. at the same time, i need in there to get my cellphone to call someone and freak out. so as i open the door she charges in and i call her back out and as she turns...she pukes a huge pile in the middle of the floor. ksajfhsf. then she does it twice more in the kitchen. so i had to clean up lots of vomit and now a dead rabbit :O what a way to start off the day
